In the past couple of months I haven't written much of anything. We went to Daytona at the beginning of November. We worked a little and then went to Japan to visit our friend Genese who is working for Boeing in a city north of Tokyo called Utsunomiya. It is the Gyoza capital of Japan. Yes, we ate some. We also traveled to Nagoya to see the sites around that area, including a treck to the Chiune Sugihara Memorial in Yaotsu. Read more about Mr. Sugihara here. The rumors are true, we like to learn things on our vacations!

We also got to see the remnants of the glorious Frank Lloyd Wright designed Imperial Hotel at the outdoor architectural museum called Meiji Mura. We also toured the Toyota factory to see them making Prius and other cars. We had lots of delicious cooked food and I discovered aloe vera juice. We got to eat onigiri from the convenience store and then eat plenty of sweet bread from a bakery near the train station. I really like the food in Japan if you couldn't guess! But, I pretty much like the food anywhere.

From Japan we flew from Nagoya to San Fran and then to LAX to see a rather disappointing exhibit at the Orange County Museum of Art on Mid-century Modern design in California. It wasn't worth the $10 we spent to get in to be quite honest. The $40 books was obviously the reason they were having the show. Now I notice that the show is going on tour. Other than some good photographs of hip houses and some pop-culture displays from the 1950s there wasn't that much to it. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I was jet-lagged. I just expected more. I'm not putting a link to the museum because the website annoys me.

We also got to experience a tasty Korean treat called Deli Manjoo at the Lee's Sandwiches. For those of you who aren't familiar with this yummy corn cake, check out the pics of me & M enjoying them on the Flickr account.

We also got to visit, the first time for both of us, Disneyland. It really is a cool park. It still has Mr. Toad and a much-longer Pirates ride. It also has the Indiana Jones ride, the Matterhorn and a much better version of Space Mountain. I had always been curious about the Storybookland boats since I like things that are miniature. I was disappointed since it was obviously geared towards someone that was about 3. But I'm not complaining since I should have known!

All in all Disneyland rocked. It was bigger and chock full of fun stuff. We even got buttons to wear saying it was our first visit. To top things off, we got to eat at In & Out Burger twice!

After LAX we flew to Allentown PA for our new niece, Lilly's baby naming ceremony. It was a bit weird to fly through Chicago and not go home. We were still a little jet-lagged but we really enjoyed meeting our new niece. She slept most of the time, but I am sure that will change soon enough!
